STEP Overview

STEP
Step Towards English Proficiency Programme

STEP (London) is designed for students who hope to further consolidate and develop their English language skills, with a goal to pursuing a career in fields such as Law, Business, International Relations, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and/or Economics.

STEP (London) aims to provide focused and intensive training in the following areas:

  • Presentations – we cover the essentials of delivering a powerful and effective presentation, such as choosing the most applicable structure, creating and using visuals, understanding cultural norms and using body language.

  • Writing – we explore the different genres of writing in a professional context, and learn the importance of conciseness, clarity and the correct tone. We also review sentence length, the use of bullet points and vocabulary.

  • Conferences and Meetings – we learn the fundamentals of leading and participating in conferences and meetings, including the use of language, intonation and body language.

  • Communicating Across Cultures - we discuss the communication styles and norms of different countries and cultures, and examine not just the words, but also the message behind the words.

  • Grammar & Vocabulary - we review the range of English verb tenses, prepositions, modals (could, would, should) and also focus on vocabulary expansion.
